Water Distribution & Sewer Systems
WRMA specializes in civil engineering design and/or relocation of proposed or existing stormwater and wastewater collection systems, water distribution systems and irrigation systems. Our clients include major municipal water utilities and water management districts as well as private clients from the residential, commercial, recreational and real estate development sectors. Our civil design team can assist with project development throughout the lifecycle of the project, from the conceptual/planning phase, to permitting, site layout and design. During the planning phase, WRMA's in-house hydrologic and hydraulic modeling capabilities can quickly identify required capacity needs and site all pipe, inlet and manhole structures according to provided easements, right of ways or architectural site layouts. WRMA can also work with local public works departments to ensure proposed sewer systems can be permitted for construction and that adequate mainline service and hydraulic capacity is available. During the procurement process, WRMA can provide bid packages including plan and profile drawings, specifications, details, and opinion of probable costs for construction.
Environmentally Sustainable Cost Efficient Design
WRMA's design approach balances elements of environmental sustainability and cost efficiency with resilience, functional reliability and ease of maintenance. Our stormwater management designs combine green infrastructure elements with more traditional elements to provide functionally reliable and environmentally friendly collection systems for public and private facilities. For sewer infrastructure design, WRMA focuses on providing a high level of service through hydraulic modeling and placing an emphasis on providing adequate access points and cleanouts to facilitate maintenance which will in the long term contribute to maximizing the lifespan of sewer infrastructure systems while reducing O&M costs.
Golf Course Drainage & Irrigation Design
WRMA can work with Professional Golf Course Architects and assist them in turning their creative visions into real and challenging holes by designing the stormwater management and irrigation systems which will enable the Architect to site the tees, fairways, bunkers, water hazards and greens where they want them. WRMA's hydraulic engineers are specialists in the design of wetlands and stormwater ponds (water hazards), and can design elegant culverts and cart paths over water hazards to allow for easy and unique access to greens. Our stormwater management designs provide adequate drainage capacity to allow for maximum playing time during the wet season, while our irrigation systems will ensure a healthy and robust course during the dry season.
Drainage Design and Retrofit
Over time, older stormwater management systems can become defected or unable to handle increased stormwater runoff flows due to increases in impervious area from decades of continual development in nearby areas. WRMA's engineering team can quickly identify contributing drainage areas and develop a hydrologic and hydraulic model to accurately assess capacity issues and determine appropriate and cost efficient corrective retrofit and/or sewer rehabilitation measures.
